"Business Innovation for Start-Up" seminar in Yangon, Myanmar

Myanmar HIDA (AOTS) Alumni Association (MHAA) organized the “Business Innovation for Start-Up” seminar at PARKROYAL Yangon during 3-5 December 2018, in cooperation with the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) and the Department of SME Development, Ministry of Industry. This seminar was organized under the support of ODA funds from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan.

Ms. Aye Aye Win, Director General of Department of SME Development, Ministry of Industry attended the opening ceremony and gave the honorable speech about the importance of  innovation in the SME fields and told how to improve their business by applying what they will learn from this seminar. She expressed her sincere thankfulness to METI, AOTS and MHAA for conducting this kind of effective seminar and mentioned that the Department of SME Development wishes to collaborate again with MHAA and AOTS in the future.

Mr. Aung Kyi Thwin, President of MHAA offered opening remarks and expressed his sincere gratitude to AOTS, METI, MHAA members/ Executive Committees, theDepartment of SME Development, lecturer and participants. He explained about MHAA, the objectives of this training program, activities/ seminars and training programs conducted by MHAA and AOTS during this year along with the future plan of MHAA.

Mr. Kenichiro Eguchi, Representative of AOTS Yangon Office addressed welcoming remarks. He expressed his gladness of successfully conducting this seminar. He explained about the history of AOTS and the programs which AOTS is providing for Myanmar.

The Lecturer, Mr. Ramon Meguro, Professor of Graduate School of Business, Tokyo University of Technology, was pleased at giving such kind of valuable lecture in Myanmar for 50 participants from various region of Myanmar. Group discussions were held on the second day of the seminar. On the final day, participants made group presentations and MHAA awarded gifts to the top 3 groups which were chosen by participants' vote. AOTS Yangon office awarded gifts to the group that got the first place.

During these two and half days of the seminar, participants actively participated in the program and the lecturer gave excellent instructions in both the lecture and the exercise.

AOTS Network spanning across the world

The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships has established “Alumni Network” in 71 regions in 43 countries through training program for over 50 years.

The total number of persons who have participated in AOTS training program from over 190 countries and regions is approximately 380,000. “Alumni” is the NGO that is voluntarily organized overseas by trainees who finished their training in Japan and went back to their countries. This NGO is a network of human resources in industry including top managers and executive managers.
